PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Liam O’Brien showcased an impressive performance by throwing for two touchdowns and adding another one on the ground, guiding Pennsylvania to a 38-28 victory over Brown, marking the Quakers’ first Ivy League triumph of the season on Saturday.
O’Brien completed 18 of 24 passes, amassing 247 yards, with touchdown passes directed to Jared Richardson and Justin Cayenne. His 10-yard rushing touchdown just before halftime extended Penn’s lead to 21-7.
The Quakers further built their advantage early in the third quarter when Malachi Hosley scored on an 11-yard run.
In the final quarter, Pennsylvania led by 24 points, but Brown made a spirited attempt to come back with two touchdowns and a safety within the last 8 ½ minutes of the game.
Hosley made significant contributions to the win, rushing for 102 yards and crossing the end zone twice, while O’Brien added 60 yards on the ground himself. Richardson stood out with an impressive 113 receiving yards on seven catches.
For Brown, Jake Wilcox completed 24 of 34 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns, while Mark Mahoney held a solid performance with seven receptions, garnering 85 yards and one touchdown.
