PSG Secures Narrow Victory Over Lens

PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain continued to assert their dominance in the French league by securing a narrow 1-0 victory against Lens on Saturday, with Ousmane Dembélé scoring the decisive goal.
In a fast start, winger Bradley Barcola broke down the left flank early in the match, delivering a low cross to Dembélé at the back post, who found the net in the fourth minute.
Barcola has emerged as PSG’s most effective attacking asset this season, demonstrating his skill and creativity. Just before halftime, he set up Marco Asensio with a precise through ball, but goalkeeper Brice Samba was on hand to thwart Asensio’s angled attempt.
Although PSG dominated possession and play, they were unable to extend their lead, even after Lens was reduced to ten men when defender Abdukodir Khusanov received a red card for a dangerous challenge on Achraf Hakimi in the 59th minute.
Dembélé’s resurgence is a crucial development for coach Luis Enrique, particularly as the team has struggled to find the back of the net in recent Champions League outings. PSG’s next challenge will be a match against Atletico Madrid at Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
On the same day, Brest took on Nice, while Saint-Etienne faced off against mid-table opponents Strasbourg.
PSG capitalized on second-place Monaco’s misfortune, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to the struggling Angers on Friday.
