KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Adam Frazier, a versatile player for the Kansas City Royals, officially entered free agency on Friday after the team opted out of his $8.5 million mutual option.
As part of the agreement, Frazier will receive a buyout of $2.5 million, on top of a guaranteed $4.5 million which includes a $2 million salary for the current year.
The 32-year-old performed solidly during the season, registering a batting average of .264 alongside four home runs and 22 runs batted in (RBIs) across 104 games while showcasing his ability to play multiple positions including first, second, and third base, along with left and right field.
With a nine-year career in the major leagues, Frazier holds a cumulative batting average of .264, having amassed 60 home runs and 399 RBIs. His career includes tenures with teams such as the Pittsburgh Pirates (2016-2021), San Diego Padres (2021), Seattle Mariners (2022), Baltimore Orioles (2023), and most recently, the Kansas City Royals.
Frazier’s versatility on the field has made him a valuable asset for various teams throughout his professional journey.
