A recent video claiming to depict election fraud in Georgia has been labeled as fraudulent by U.S. intelligence officials, who attribute it to “Russian influence actors.” The video features an individual, who asserts that he is a Haitian immigrant, stating his intent to vote multiple times in two counties of Georgia, specifically for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, expressed skepticism regarding the video’s authenticity during an announcement on Thursday evening. He described it as “obviously fake” and suggested it was likely created by Russian trolls aiming to disrupt and create panic ahead of the elections.
On Friday, intelligence officials supported Raffensperger’s conclusions, identifying the video as a product of Russian actors seeking to undermine confidence in the electoral process in the United States. They noted that this incident is part of a larger campaign by Moscow to foster baseless concerns about election integrity and to exacerbate divisions within American society.
