Dodgers to host parade and stadium event in honor of World Series win

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to commemorate their eighth World Series title with a celebratory parade through downtown Los Angeles, followed by a gathering at Dodger Stadium featuring star players like Shohei Ohtani. The joyous events will take place on Friday after the Dodgers triumphed over the New York Yankees, clinching the championship in just five games, concluding with a thrilling 7-6 win at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.

Due to various logistical considerations, fans will need to choose between attending the parade or the stadium celebration, as it’s not feasible to experience both events fully. Enthusiastic fans dressed in Dodgers blue started gathering along the streets of downtown hours in advance of the festivities.

The parade will kick off mid-morning at Gloria Molina Grand Park, situated right in front of City Hall, with Mayor Karen Bass expected to participate. The procession will follow a 45-minute route, culminating at the intersection of 5th and Flower streets, where the Dodgers will ride atop double-decker buses, bringing their championship spirit to the streets.

The celebration at Dodger Stadium will commence shortly after noon. Fans in attendance will be able to watch the parade’s highlights on the stadium’s videoboards as they await the team’s arrival.

Additionally, part of the revenue from ticket sales for the stadium event will be directed to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, demonstrating the team’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Following the team’s exhilarating clinch of the Series, there were several arrests during an impromptu celebration, accompanied by incidents of vandalism, burglaries, and fires in certain areas of the city.
