Hana Wakimoto displayed impressive skill during the second round of the LPGA’s Toto Japan Classic, carding a 4-under 68 on Friday.
With a stellar performance in the opening round, where she scored 63, the Japanese golfer currently leads the tournament with a cumulative score of 13-under-par at 131 after completing 36 holes.
Trailing by two strokes, American player Yealimi Noh and Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn are in pursuit of her lead, having shot rounds of 65 and 66 respectively.
Setting their sights on the top, Japan’s Rio Takeda follows closely, sitting three strokes back after finishing with a round of 65.
Meanwhile, Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson wrapped up her round with a 71, placing her at 3-under and ten strokes off the lead.
Australia’s Minjee Lee had a tougher day, ending with a score of 75, which puts her further behind Wakimoto in the standings.
The Toto Japan Classic marks the conclusion of a four-tournament swing through Asia for the LPGA Tour, which has featured competitions in China, South Korea, and Malaysia, showcasing some of the best talents in women’s golf.
