ASHBURN, Va. — Jayden Daniels is set to participate in practice with the Washington Commanders on Wednesday, although he is managing a rib injury, as stated by coach Dan Quinn.
Before heading onto the practice field, Quinn informed the media that both Daniels, the team’s highly regarded rookie quarterback, and Brandon Coleman, another rookie who was in rotation at left tackle before suffering a concussion on October 20 against Carolina, would be part of the practice session. However, veteran tackle Cornelius Lucas will not be practicing due to an ankle injury, according to Quinn’s remarks.
The spotlight remains on Daniels, who pushed through pain to lead Washington to victory over Chicago with a stunning Hail Mary touchdown pass last Sunday. He had missed some practices earlier in the week but returned as a limited participant on Friday, ultimately being labeled as questionable and listed as a game-time decision.
Despite taking numerous hard hits during the game against the Bears, Daniels expressed after the win that he was feeling okay. The Commanders, currently with a record of 6-2, are preparing for their upcoming game against the struggling 2-6 New York Giants this weekend.
