ATLANTA – On Tuesday afternoon, numerous gunshots were heard at the Four Seasons Hotel located in Atlanta, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. An individual believed to be armed has been taken into custody by police.

The Atlanta Police Department, along with a SWAT team, arrived on the scene around 2:30 p.m. to deal with the situation involving a barricaded individual in the Midtown section of the city. To ensure the safety of the public, the police established a perimeter around the hotel and issued a shelter-in-place order for residents in the vicinity.

In light of the incident, several major roadways were closed off as a precautionary measure. After some time, authorities lifted the shelter-in-place order, though they continued to advise the public to steer clear of the area while investigations were underway.
