Musk’s Trump-aligned super PAC employs derogatory language towards women in reference to Harris

Elon Musk’s political action committee has released a controversial advertisement targeting Vice President Kamala Harris. The 35-second video, dated October 25 and shared on Musk’s X platform, features explicit language aimed at Harris, referring to her with a derogatory term commonly used to insult women, while also labeling her a communist.

The video’s narrator issues a warning that it “contains multiple instances of the c-word,” before proceeding to address Harris as “a big ole c-word.” Throughout the video, the narrator paints the Democratic presidential candidate as a “tax-hiking, regulation-loving, gun-grabbing communist,” accompanying these remarks with images of Harris as well as a cartoon cat depicted in a Soviet-style military outfit. Despite not being showcased in the PAC’s main X feed, the video remained discoverable through searches on the platform as of Tuesday morning.

The advertisement has attracted significant attention, coinciding with a trend in which Trump and his supporters have increasingly resorted to provocative rhetoric as the campaign reaches its climax. Trump has been particularly critical of Harris, even calling her “mentally impaired” on occasions. Additionally, he has made derogatory comments about CNN’s Anderson Cooper by referring to him with a woman’s name, perpetuating stereotypes about effeminate gay men. Notably, a recent Trump rally at Madison Square Garden included a series of crude and racially insensitive jokes, one being a comedian’s jab at Puerto Rico, referring to it as a “floating island of garbage.”

A spokesperson for the PAC did not provide comments regarding the video. The advertisement concludes with an appeal for viewers to sign a petition from America PAC backing the U.S. Constitution, limited to voters in pivotal battleground states. Musk has committed to donating $1 million daily until November 5 to individuals in these states who sign the petition. This fundraising tactic has come under scrutiny, leading to a lawsuit from the district attorney in Philadelphia.

Earlier this year, Musk endorsed Trump and has participated in several rallies and pro-Trump events in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state. Both Musk and Trump frequently refer to Harris as “Comrade Kamala,” suggesting that her potential presidency would usher in socialist policies in the United States.
