Apple is set to launch a complimentary software update that will introduce its inaugural artificial intelligence features to the iPhone 16 series, reflecting the company’s efforts to stay current with the latest technological trends.
This update to the iOS 18 operating system is scheduled for release on Monday, following the debut of four models in the iPhone 16 collection that were made available for purchase over a month ago. These models, which range in price from $800 to $1,200, include a specialized chip designed to support the new AI functionalities. Furthermore, last year’s flagship devices, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, also have processors capable of leveraging the AI features once the update is applied.
In addition to the iPhones, recent iterations of Apple’s iPad and Mac computers will also be eligible for this software enhancement.
However, users outside of the United States will have to wait until next year to receive the AI capabilities on their iPhones, with the specific date yet to be announced. Over the past five weeks, Apple has been refining the AI software by conducting tests with a group of iPhone users who volunteered to assist in improving the technology prior to its official rollout.
