MOBILE, Ala. — In an impressive show of strength, South Alabama triumphed over Louisiana-Monroe with a resounding 46-17 victory, fueled by two standout players, Kentrel Bullock and Fluff Bothwell, who each eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark and scored two touchdowns.

The game took a dramatic turn in the second half, where South Alabama (4-4, 3-1 in the Sun Belt Conference) outperformed UL Monroe (5-2, 3-1) by a staggering 34-0 after entering halftime down by five points. Bullock started the scoring for the Jaguars with a 4-yard touchdown run, capping off a 70-yard opening drive.

In response, the Warhawks managed to take the lead into halftime, thanks to Aidan Armenta’s 51-yard touchdown pass to Davon Wells, Hunter Herring’s 44-yard rushing touchdown, and a 28-yard field goal by Max Larson on the last play of the half, putting them ahead 17-12.

However, the Jaguars regained control early in the second half when Bothwell scored from 3 yards out, giving South Alabama the lead they would not relinquish. Bullock followed suit with a 13-yard touchdown run just two minutes later, extending the lead to 25-17. Gio Lopez added another touchdown with a 5-yard run to finish the third quarter strong.

As the game neared its conclusion, Bothwell powered in a touchdown from one yard away with 3:54 to go, and Braylon McReynolds sealed the deal with a 24-yard rushing touchdown in the final moments.

Overall, Bullock led the charge with 141 rushing yards on 18 carries, while Bothwell contributed 119 yards on 17 attempts, helping South Alabama achieve a remarkable total of 355 rushing yards.
