Steve Hall delivered an impressive performance for Lindenwood, rushing for 259 yards and scoring four touchdowns in their thrilling 49-38 win over Western Illinois on Saturday.

Nate Glantz connected with Darrin Fugitt for a decisive 35-yard touchdown pass, which propelled Lindenwood into the lead at 42-38 with just under ten minutes left on the clock.

As the game progressed into the fourth quarter, Western Illinois quarterback Nathan Lamb orchestrated an impressive 90-yard drive in only seven plays, reaching a first-and-goal at the Lindenwood seven-yard line. However, the momentum shifted when a holding penalty occurred, followed by a fumble by Lamb that halted the drive prematurely.

Seizing the opportunity, Hall then made a spectacular 93-yard touchdown run, tying the record for the longest offensive play in the team’s history. Throughout the game, Hall scored from 9, 12, and 75 yards, all on just 13 carries.

In addition to Hall’s efforts, Glantz completed 11 out of 16 passes for 183 yards, accumulating two touchdown passes along with a 30-yard touchdown run, contributing significantly to Lindenwood’s record of 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the Big South-OVC Association.

On the other side, Lamb had a record-setting day for Western Illinois, completing 42 of his 55 attempts for an impressive 564 yards and five touchdowns. Matthew Henry shined with 15 receptions totaling 226 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown. Additionally, Elijah Aragon caught nine passes for 132 yards and scored two touchdowns, while Cameren Smith also contributed with two touchdown receptions for the Leathernecks.

Despite the final score, Western Illinois outperformed Lindenwood in total offensive yards, amassing 713 compared to Lindenwood’s 572.
