A tragic helicopter accident occurred in the Kirov region of central Russia on Saturday, resulting in the loss of all four lives on board, as reported by emergency officials.
The Mi-2 helicopter was piloted by one individual and was transporting a doctor along with two paramedics when it went down in a wooded area near the village of Beleenki. This village is situated approximately 700 kilometers (435 miles) east of Moscow, as detailed in a statement released by Russia’s Emergency Ministry.
Initially, rescuers recovered three bodies at the crash site; however, they later found the fourth individual, according to the ministry’s updates.
While recovery efforts were underway, authorities have yet to disclose any information regarding the potential causes of the accident.
The Mi-2 is a compact helicopter that was designed in the Soviet era and is versatile in its applications, serving a range of operational needs.
