The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially announced their roster for the World Series, ahead of the highly anticipated Game 1 against the New York Yankees. Three players have been included: left-handed pitcher Alex Vesia, right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol, and infielder Miguel Rojas.
To make room for these additions, outfielder Kevin Kiermaier and right-handed pitchers Evan Phillips and Edgardo Henriquez have been removed from the roster. Vesia’s absence from the National League Championship Series was due to an intercostal injury he sustained while warming up for the fifth game of the NL Division Series against the San Diego Padres on October 11.
In a similar vein, Miguel Rojas has not seen action since Game 3 against the Padres on October 8, as he battled through an adductor injury. Brusdar Graterol has been out of action since September 24 because of inflammation in his pitching shoulder. It’s worth noting that in the 2020 World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, Graterol made three scoreless appearances, although he has only been active for seven games in this regular season.
The Dodgers have opted to maintain a balanced roster with 13 pitchers and 13 position players. As for the Yankees, their roster details have not yet been disclosed, leaving fans curious about their lineup for the championship series.
