ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks have revealed that guard Kobe Bufkin has suffered a partial dislocation of his right shoulder for the second time, according to a team announcement on Thursday.
Bufkin experienced a shoulder subluxation during a practice session last weekend, which kept him from participating in Atlanta’s season-opening win against Brooklyn, which ended with a score of 120-116.
The Hawks have stated that Bufkin is currently considering treatment options, and it appears he may be looking at an extended period away from the game.
Selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Bufkin was unable to participate in the Summer League due to a similar injury. However, he managed to play all four games during the preseason and was anticipated to step in as the primary backup point guard behind Trae Young.
In Bufkin’s absence, Vit Krejci and Dyson Daniels are expected to share the responsibilities of the point guard position when Young needs to rest on the bench.
