BASEL, Switzerland — The Swiss Indoors tournament saw crucial victories for Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune, both of whom are still in the running for an ATP Finals berth.
On Tuesday, Tsitsipas, currently ranked 11th in the world, managed to secure a tough win against Francisco Cerundolo, finishing the match with scores of 6-3, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4). At the same time, 14th-ranked Rune also achieved victory, overcoming Nicolas Jarry with a scoreline of 6-4, 7-6 (3). The ATP Finals, which is set to feature the top eight players, will take place next month in Turin.
Looking ahead, third-seeded Tsitsipas is scheduled to compete against qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp in his next match, while fourth-seeded Rune is set to take on Swiss wild card Dominic Stricker.
Additionally, sixth-seeded Ben Shelton also had a successful outing on Tuesday, defeating Tomas Martin Etcheverry with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
