Honda Issues Second Significant Recall in October, Addressing Fuel Leak Risks from Potentially Cracked Pumps

Honda is initiating a recall affecting over 700,000 of its vehicles due to concerns regarding the high-pressure fuel pump, which has the potential to crack and result in fuel leakage. This situation raises the risk of a fire hazard.

This marks the second significant recall for Honda in October alone, following another recall involving approximately 1.7 million vehicles due to possible steering complications identified earlier in the month.

The affected models include the 2023-2024 Accord and Accord Hybrid, the 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid, and the 2023-2025 CR-V Hybrid.

Honda has reported 145 warranty claims tied to this issue; however, there have been no indications of injuries or fatalities linked to it from February 2023 through September 2024.

The company has announced that authorized dealers will conduct inspections and will replace the high-pressure fuel pumps at no cost to the owners if necessary.

Notification letters to vehicle owners are anticipated to be sent out on December 4. For further information, owners can reach Honda customer service by calling 1-888-234-2138.
