The 2024-25 preseason All-America men’s basketball team has been announced, featuring standout players from various colleges. This selection was determined by a panel of 55 national media members, and includes vital player statistics from the previous season in parentheses.
Leading the list is Mark Sears from Alabama, a senior standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 190 pounds. He secured an impressive 54 out of 55 possible votes, averaging 17.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game last season, with a field goal percentage of 50.8 and a free throw percentage of 85.7.
Following him is RJ Davis from North Carolina, another senior who is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He received 51 votes after a remarkable last season where he averaged 21.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, along with 47 steals and an exceptional 86.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Hunter Dickinson, a senior from Kansas, stands 7 feet 2 inches and weighs 265 pounds. With 42 votes, he posted averages of 17.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, in addition to averaging 2.3 assists and achieving a field goal percentage of 54.8, while also recording 47 blocks.
A junior from Auburn, Johni Broome stands at 6 feet 10 inches and weighs 240 pounds, having received 34 votes. Last season, he averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds, led by a field goal percentage of 54.8 and a notable 78 blocks.
Caleb Love from Arizona, who is a senior standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 205 pounds, managed to garner 24 votes. He averaged 18 points and 4.9 rebounds alongside 3.5 assists in the previous season, netting 93 three-pointers and recording 44 steals.
Fellow freshman Cooper Flagg from Duke is 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. He also received 24 votes and showcased impressive stats at Monteverde Academy in Florida, averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, along with 3.8 steals and 2.7 blocks per game.
A number of other players received votes as well, including Ryan Kalkbrenner from Creighton with 15 votes, Alex Karaban from UConn with 10, and LJ Cryer from Houston with 5 votes. Additional players that garnered attention include Braden Smith from Purdue, Kam Jones from Marquette, Tamin Lipsey from Iowa State, Wade Taylor IV from Texas A&M, Johnell Davis from Arkansas, Norchard Omier from Baylor, Ace Bailey from Rutgers, Robbie Avila from Saint Louis, Tucker DeVries from West Virginia, and Tre Johnson from Texas, who each received varying levels of support from the media panel.
