LONDON — A police officer in London who was involved in the shooting death of an unarmed Black man two years ago received an acquittal for murder on Monday.
Metropolitan Police marksman Martyn Blake, aged 40, was found not guilty by a jury regarding the fatal shooting of Chris Kaba, who had led police on a pursuit in a vehicle linked to a shooting that occurred just a day prior.
The incident resulted in the death of Kaba, aged 24, on September 5, 2022, after police had boxed in his car with two patrol vehicles on a narrow street located in the Streatham Hill area.
