SAN ROQUE, Spain — In an exhilarating conclusion to the tournament, Julien Guerrier triumphed after an intense nine-hole playoff, securing his first victory on the European Tour during his 230th appearance.

Guerrier clinched the win with an impressive putt from 8 feet, equalizing the playoff record, and edging out Spaniard Jorge Campillo. Both players concluded the tournament tied at 21-under par following the standard four rounds.

Expressing his joy, the French golfer shared, “I’m feeling great and I can’t believe I made it. Because it’s been a really long time I’ve been waiting for it. We work really hard every week for that but we have to stay patient.”

To secure his place in the playoff, Guerrier had to sink a 16-foot par putt on the final hole, finishing the last round with a score of 2-under 70. On the other hand, Campillo, who also shot a 70, faced challenges with three bogeys in the last seven holes of his round.

Notably, Jon Rahm, the highest-ranked player in the tournament at No. 14 in the world, finished in sixth place, trailing four shots behind the leaders after concluding his round with a score of 67. This tournament marked the final European event of the year for the tour, encapsulating an exciting day of golf.
