SAN ROQUE, Spain — Jorge Campillo has maintained an impressive performance at the Andalucia Masters, finishing the second round with a score of 7-under 65. This remarkable achievement has placed him four shots ahead of the competition as he heads into the weekend.
The closest competitor to Campillo is English golfer Dan Brown. Meanwhile, former leader Julien Guerrier is joined by players Scott Jamieson and Jordan Smith, with each trailing by five strokes and tied for third place.
Campillo’s consistency has been notable, as he has played 36 holes without a drop shot at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in southern Spain. He began with a strong opening round of 64 and added to his success by making an eagle at the par-4 11th hole, along with five birdies in his second round.
Jon Rahm, who finished with a score of 66 in this round, is competing in his third European Tour event in a month. He is currently tied for sixth, sitting seven strokes behind the leader. Rahm, who ranks No. 14 globally, is the highest-ranked player present at this tournament, which is the final event of the year on European territory for the European Tour.
Upcoming tournaments for the season will take place in South Korea, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
