Haason Reddick has new representation aiming to resolve the contract standoff of the Jets’ standout pass rusher shortly.

Haason Reddick’s new representation is eager to resolve the ongoing contract holdout involving the pass rusher for the New York Jets. Recently signed to the team after a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, Reddick’s new agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha, are focused on quickly finding a solution to his contract issues.

“We’re looking forward to collaborating with the Jets to finalize this matter as soon as we can,” Rosenhaus stated in a text message on Monday. “Haason is not only an exceptional player but also a remarkable individual. He wants to be a New York Jet for an extended period, and our objective is to make that a reality.”

Since making an appearance at the Jets’ facility in Florham Park, New Jersey, on April 1 for a physical that formalized his trade, Reddick has been absent from team activities due to a contract disagreement. His previous agency, CAA, terminated their relationship with him just last week.

Reports by ESPN indicated that Reddick has engaged Rosenhaus and Matha to represent him in his negotiations. Rosenhaus affirmed that both he and Matha would be present at MetLife Stadium on Monday night for the Jets’ matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

The 30-year-old Reddick sought a trade on August 12; however, general manager Joe Douglas promptly rejected the request, making it clear that the Jets would not facilitate a trade. On July 25, he was placed on the reserve/did not report list, marking the second day of the team’s training camp.

Due to his absence from mandatory training sessions and workouts, Reddick has accumulated approximately $5 million in fines, and for each missed game, he forfeits a game check—which could add up to nearly $5 million in losses after Monday night’s game.

In a conference call last Tuesday where discussions included the dismissal of coach Robert Saleh, Jets owner Woody Johnson directly encouraged Reddick to join the squad. “Haason, get in your car, drive down (Interstate) 95 and come to the New York Jets,” Johnson urged. “We can meet you and give you an escort right into the building. You’ll fit in perfectly, and you’re going to love it here. You’ll achieve great things with us.”

Reddick was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals after his standout performance at Temple. He has consistently excelled, recording double-digit sack totals in the last four seasons and achieving an impressive 27 sacks over his most recent two seasons with the Eagles.
