SMITHFIELD, R.I. — In a thrilling college football matchup on Saturday, Myles Burkett threw two touchdown passes to Seven McGee, leading Albany to a 24-17 victory over Bryant. Burkett’s standout performance included the decisive touchdown in the fourth quarter, which allowed the Great Danes to pull ahead in an intense contest.

With 10:43 remaining in the game, Burkett connected with McGee on a 5-yard touchdown strike, putting Albany ahead 17-10. The momentum continued to swing in Albany’s favor when Jojo Uga capped a quick drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, extending the lead to two scores with just over a minute left on the clock. This scoring drive followed a turnover on downs by the Bulldogs deep in their own territory.

The additional points proved vital as Bryant mounted a last-minute drive, covering 75 yards with Jarrett Guest throwing a 21-yard touchdown pass to Drew Montez with only six seconds remaining. Although the Bulldogs managed to recover the subsequent onside kick, Guest’s final pass attempt was thwarted by Albany’s Marcus Winfield, sealing the game for the Great Danes.

In terms of personal stats, Burkett completed 13 of 24 passes for 183 yards, albeit with two interceptions. He also contributed on the ground, rushing for 57 yards, while Uga added 54 yards to the rushing total. Levi Wentz was a standout receiver for Albany, notching four receptions for a total of 106 yards.

On the opposing side, Guest had a strong performance, completing 23 of 32 passes for 233 yards, including two touchdown passes and one interception. Fabrice Mukendi contributed significantly to the Bulldogs’ effort with 94 rushing yards. The game had a pivotal moment early on when Guest connected with Landon Ruggieri for a 36-yard touchdown pass in the opening minute, giving Bryant a 7-3 lead at halftime.

As the game progressed, Albany responded in the third quarter when Burkett found McGee again for a 3-yard touchdown pass to reclaim the lead, finishing the game with McGee catching four passes totaling 26 yards.
