Fans disrupt Padres’ NLDS game with trash and balls at Dodger Stadium

In the NL Division Series, the San Diego Padres bounced back with a 10-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, tying the series at one game apiece. Yu Darvish impressed on the mound, holding the Dodgers to just one run and three hits over seven innings. Meanwhile, Fernando Tatis Jr. shined with two home runs, contributing to the Padres’ record-tying six homers in the game. David Peralta, Jackson Merrill, Xander Bogaerts, and Kyle Higashioka also added to the Padres’ offensive onslaught with their own home runs.

However, the game was marred by an incident in the middle of the seventh inning when fans threw baseballs towards San Diego left fielder Jurickson Profar, followed by a delay due to trash being tossed onto the field. Security had to intervene as the sellout crowd at Dodger Stadium expressed their displeasure. Despite the disruptions, the Padres remained focused and eventually closed out the game in dominant fashion.

Manny Machado provided leadership for the Padres during the delay, rallying his teammates in the dugout before play resumed. The series now moves to San Diego for Game 3 on Tuesday, with both teams eager to gain the upper hand in this highly competitive matchup.

On the Dodgers side, Freddie Freeman had to exit the game early due to discomfort in his sprained right ankle, further complicating their efforts to secure a victory. Max Muncy managed to salvage some pride for the Dodgers with a late homer in the ninth inning.

Looking ahead, the Dodgers have yet to announce their starting pitcher for Game 3, while the Padres will turn to RHP Michael King. King has shown his prowess on the mound in previous outings, including a dominant performance against Atlanta in the NL Wild Card Series. The upcoming game promises to be another intense battle between these two talented teams as they vie for a spot in the next round of the playoffs.
