Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie suffered a back injury during their game against the New York Jets on Sunday. Badie had to be placed on a backboard and carted off the sideline before the start of the second quarter. The Broncos announced that his return was uncertain as he dealt with the back injury.
The injury occurred when Badie caught a pass from Bo Nix on a third-down play towards the end of the first quarter. He was tackled by Quincy Williams, resulting in a 4-yard loss and a fumble that was recovered by Michael Carter II of the Jets. Following the hit, Badie was seen on the sideline laying on his back and receiving attention from trainers. Subsequently, he was carefully secured onto a backboard and then lifted onto a cart to be taken off the field.
Badie had recently been elevated to the Broncos’ active roster from the practice squad earlier that week. This marks his third season with Denver after initially being signed from Baltimore’s practice squad in 2022.
Due to the severity of his back injury, the Broncos are monitoring Badie’s condition closely to determine when he might be able to return to play. The team and fans are hopeful for a swift recovery for the running back as they navigate through the remaining games of the season.
