UC Davis secured a 28-26 victory against Idaho in a competitive FCS matchup. Miles Hastings had an impressive performance, completing 25 of 33 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns. Lan Larison also played a key role, contributing two touchdowns to UC Davis’ victory.

The game saw an exciting start to the second half when C.J. Hutton returned the opening kickoff 72 yards. Following this, Miles Hastings connected with Lan Larison for a 26-yard touchdown, granting UC Davis its first lead of the game at 21-17. With 1:45 left before the fourth quarter, Hastings found Winston Williams for a 13-yard touchdown, extending UC Davis’ lead to 28-17.

Freshman quarterback Nick Josifek made a significant impact after coming in for starter Jack Wagner, who threw interceptions on back-to-back drives in the third quarter. Josifek led two scoring drives in the fourth quarter, with Cameron Pope sealing one with a 22-yard field goal.

Despite Idaho outgaining UC Davis in total yards (459-312) and rushing yards (185-26), UC Davis managed to secure the win, thanks in part to Larison’s contributions. Larison had 18 carries for 46 yards and a touchdown, completed three passes for 38 yards, and recorded four receptions for 54 yards and a score.

The game came down to the wire, with Idaho attempting a 2-point conversion in the final moments. However, Zach Kennedy’s quarterback pressure disrupted the play, forcing an incomplete pass and allowing UC Davis to hold on for the victory.
