Austin FC managed to salvage a 2-2 draw against Real Salt Lake in an intense match on Saturday night, thanks to late goals from Jáder Obrian and defender Guilherme Biro. The game remained goalless until the 48th minute when Matt Crooks scored unassisted to put Real Salt Lake in the lead. This marked Crooks’ third goal in his debut MLS season, having made 26 appearances so far.

Real Salt Lake extended their lead to 2-0 in the 65th minute with Diogo Gonçalves converting a penalty kick, scoring his second goal in six career appearances. The penalty was awarded after a foul on Austin’s Owen Wolff. Austin FC fought back and narrowed the gap in the 82nd minute when Obrian capitalized on a pass from Jon Gallagher to score his seventh goal of the season, with Gallagher providing his third assist.

Biro then stepped up in the 89th minute to score the equalizer, with Sebastián Driussi claiming his second assist of the match. This goal marked Biro’s third in his debut MLS season. Real Salt Lake’s goalkeeper, Zac MacMath, made five crucial saves during the game, while Austin FC’s Brad Stuver recorded four saves.
