In a commanding performance, Army continued their unbeaten streak with a 42-14 triumph over Temple on Thursday night. The Black Knights, now 4-0 in the American Athletic Conference, showcased their dominance with Bryson Daily leading the way with three rushing touchdowns. Daily’s impressive performance has been instrumental in Army’s success this season, as they are now tied with Missouri for the longest active win streak in the FBS at eight consecutive wins.
From the start of the game, Army demonstrated their offensive prowess by scoring touchdowns on their first two drives, a feat they have accomplished in all four of their games this season. Noah Short’s 61-yard touchdown run and Daily’s subsequent score set the tone for the Black Knights’ dominant performance. The team continued their relentless attack in the second half, with Daily adding another touchdown to his tally and Kanye Udoh contributing a 28-yard score.
Despite Temple showing signs of life with touchdown passes from Evan Simon to Dante Wright and Daniel Evert, Army’s offense proved too strong to overcome. Udoh’s impressive 41-yard run set up yet another Daily touchdown, extinguishing any hopes of a Temple comeback. Daily finished the game with 152 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards, while Udoh added 128 rushing yards to Army’s total offensive output of 489 yards.
In addition to their stellar offensive performance, Army’s defense was equally impressive, holding Temple to minus-5 yards rushing while sacking Simon seven times. Simon, despite his efforts with 224 passing yards and two touchdowns, struggled under Army’s relentless defensive pressure. With this victory, Army has solidified their position as a formidable force in college football this season.
The Black Knights’ balanced attack and stout defense have proven to be a winning combination, propelling them to the top of the American Athletic Conference standings. As the season progresses, Army will look to build on this momentum and continue their pursuit of excellence on the football field.
