Packers shift Jordan Love’s availability to doubtful for Colts game

The status of Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts has been downgraded to doubtful due to a knee injury. Initially listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, Love’s status was changed to doubtful on Saturday. As Love continues to recover from a left medial collateral ligament injury sustained during the Packers’ season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 6, he has not participated in practice throughout the week.
In light of Love’s uncertain availability, the Packers have elevated quarterback Sean Clifford from the practice squad to the active roster for the upcoming game against the Colts. Clifford, a fifth-round pick from Penn State in the 2023 draft, is anticipated to serve as the backup to Malik Willis on Sunday.
Malik Willis, who joined the Packers less than three weeks ago after being acquired from the Tennessee Titans in a trade for a 2025 seventh-round pick, is on track to start for Green Bay. Willis, a third-round pick from Liberty in the 2022 draft, has limited NFL experience with three career starts during his rookie season with the Titans, where the team went 1-2 in those games, and Willis did not surpass 100 passing yards in any of the starts.
The Packers are preparing for Sunday’s game against the Colts with uncertain quarterback circumstances, relying on Malik Willis to lead the offense in the absence of Jordan Love.
