Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever sets new WNBA single-season assist record

Indiana Fever’s standout player Caitlin Clark made history once again as she broke the WNBA’s single-season record for assists on Friday night. The rookie guard scored 18 points, all in the second half, along with nine assists and eight rebounds in a close 78-74 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
At just 22 years old, Clark has accumulated an impressive 321 assists in her debut season in the WNBA, surpassing Alyssa Thomas’ record of 316 from last season. With two games remaining in the regular season against Dallas and Washington, Clark’s stellar performance continues to shine for the Fever.
Selected as the top overall pick in the WNBA draft from Iowa, Clark boasts an average of 19.1 points and a league-leading 8.4 assists per game. Her well-rounded game includes an average of 5.8 rebounds, solidifying her impact on the court for the Fever this season.
