Despite a determined effort, Virginia State fell short, with QB Romelo Williams scoring a 7-yard touchdown to bring the score to 28-23, followed by an unsuccessful two-point conversion pass.
Norfolk State strategically managed the clock in the final minutes, running out the clock with a series of rushing plays and kneel-downs. King played a pivotal role in the Spartans’ ground game, contributing to a total of 259 rushing yards on 43 carries. Meanwhile, Daniels showcased his versatility by completing 14 of 21 passes for 210 yards and throwing two touchdown passes – a 60-yarder to Jacquez Jones and a 22-yard pass to Kam’Ryn Thomas. Daniels added to his impressive performance with an 11-yard touchdown run.
Jones emerged as a key target, amassing four receptions for 109 yards. On the opposing side, Williams completed 14 of 20 passes for 171 yards, including a touchdown pass and an interception.
