Oasis has increased the number of shows on their reunion tour in Britain and Ireland due to high demand for tickets. The additional performances will take place at Heaton Park in Manchester on July 16, Wembley Stadium in London on July 30, and Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Aug. 12. These new shows are part of a total of 17 gigs that will kick off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4.
During the Britpop era of the 1990s, Oasis was a prominent band known for hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” The band’s music was characterized by catchy rock choruses and the dynamic interplay between guitarist-songwriter Noel Gallagher and lead singer Liam Gallagher.
After their split in 2009, Noel Gallagher officially departed from the band following a backstage altercation with his brother during a festival near Paris. Although the Gallagher siblings have not performed together since the split, they often include Oasis songs in their solo performances and have exchanged public criticisms of each other.
Oasis expressed in their reunion announcement the unique energy that only emerges when they share the stage. The tour will commence on July 4 and 5 at the Principality Stadium, followed by performances in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin on various dates from July to August.
Tickets for the shows in Ireland will start at 86.50 euros ($96) plus booking fee, with prices for the UK performances yet to be disclosed. Sales will begin on Saturday at 8 a.m. in Ireland and an hour later in the UK. Fans were also given the opportunity to participate in a presale ballot set to take place on Friday. The exact number of tickets allocated through the ballot remains unknown.
