A senior FBI official revealed that the gunman behind the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump had searched online for events involving both Trump and President Joe Biden. The assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, viewed the Pennsylvania campaign rally where he carried out the attack last month as a “target of opportunity,” according to Kevin Rojek, the FBI’s top agent in Pittsburgh.
