Key NFL free agents include Ryan Tannehill, Xavien Howard, Patrick Peterson, and Dalvin Cook

Joe Flacco made an impressive comeback last season when he joined the Cleveland Browns in November, leading them to the playoffs and winning the AP Comeback Player of the Year award.

Several talented free agents are currently in a situation similar to Flacco’s last season, waiting for a team to call them for the upcoming season.

One notable player still available is Ryan Tannehill, who had a successful stint with the Tennessee Titans from 2019 to 2021 but remains unsigned since his contract expired. Tannehill, aged 36, started eight games last season and mentioned recently that he is keeping himself in shape, ready for the right opportunity.

Another quarterback, Trevor Siemian, who started three games for the New York Jets last season, is also patiently waiting for a team to sign him for the upcoming season.

Desmond Ridder, who began last season as Atlanta’s starting quarterback, was released by the Arizona Cardinals after not securing the backup role behind Kyler Murray.

Other quarterbacks like Mike White, Bailey Zappe, and Brett Rypien also became available after teams finalized their 53-man rosters this week.

Among the remaining free agents, four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook reportedly had a workout with the Dallas Cowboys, who are in need of backfield support. Cook had a rough season with the Jets last year but previously had four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Vikings.

Xavien Howard, a former Pro Bowl cornerback, could provide much-needed support to teams like the Cowboys, who are dealing with injuries and inexperience in the cornerback position.

Donovan Smith, a seasoned left tackle who protected quarterbacks for Super Bowl-winning teams, is still available and could be a valuable addition to any team in need of offensive line help.

Yannick Ngakoue, known for his pass-rushing skills, is available for teams seeking a specialist in that area. Despite playing for multiple teams in recent years, Ngakoue has shown consistency in getting sacks.

Patrick Peterson, an eight-time Pro Bowl cornerback, is determined to continue playing despite his age and is expected to find a team that can benefit from his experience.

Micah Hyde, a two-time second-team All-Pro safety, is another veteran still on the market, offering depth and experience to any team looking to strengthen its secondary.
