Denmark’s defender Joachim Andersen has returned to Fulham for a second term after departing Premier League rival Crystal Palace. Andersen, a center back, previously spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Fulham, where he became a popular figure among the fans. This time, the move to Craven Cottage is permanent, as Andersen has signed a five-year contract for a reported fee of 30 million pounds ($40 million). Speaking about his return, Andersen expressed his joy, stating that it feels like coming home and giving him a good feeling.

Fulham’s acquisition of Andersen comes in the wake of losing defenders Tosin Adarabioyo and Tim Ream on free transfers earlier in the transfer window. Andersen now joins Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal as the second central defender to bolster the club’s backline. The departure of Andersen is a setback for Crystal Palace, who are also facing the challenge of retaining fellow center half Marc Guehi amidst interest from Newcastle.
