Elon Musk’s PAC intensifies efforts to rescue Trump from legal challenges

Elon Musk is investing heavily in Donald Trump’s campaign this November, dedicating both substantial funds and personal effort.

Recent filings with the Federal Election Commission reveal that Musk’s pro-Trump America PAC has significantly ramped up its activities, spending an initial $5.8 million. Of that, $3.6 million has been allocated to canvassing and field operations.

The PAC has raised a total of $8.8 million, with contributions from figures like Palantir’s Joe Lonsdale and crypto entrepreneurs the Winklevoss twins. However, the America PAC is currently facing investigations in North Carolina and Michigan over allegations of collecting personal data under the pretense of voter registration.

While Musk initially seemed to promise a $45 million monthly donation to the Super PAC, he later refuted this claim in July during a conversation with Jordan Peterson. Although Musk did make a donation last month, the exact amount will not be disclosed until the PAC’s next quarterly report in October.

In the meantime, Musk is actively involved in efforts to boost voter turnout for Trump. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Musk has been participating in weekly meetings with America PAC, focusing on increasing voter turnout in battleground states and aiming to mobilize 800,000 voters. Under new FEC rules, campaigns can now collaborate with Super PACs on get-out-the-vote strategies.
