Justin Allgaier claimed his second victory of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season and 25th of his career at Michigan International Speedway. He secured the win by pulling ahead of the competition in an overtime finish. The race was eventful due to wet weather causing delays, with the Xfinity event being halted twice during the 125-lap race that extended to 128 laps.

During the final restart, Allgaier took the lead in his No. 7 Chevrolet, with Kyle Sieg encountering a crash on the last lap that brought the race to an end. Sieg managed to exit his car without assistance. Sheldon Creed, starting from the pole position, finished in second place, followed by John Hunter Nemechek, the previous year’s Xfinity winner at Michigan.

Allgaier, representing JR Motorsports, added this victory to his win earlier in the season at Darlington Raceway. With five races left in the regular season before the 12-driver playoffs start on September 28 in Kansas, the competition is heating up.

Next up on the series schedule is Daytona on Friday night, continuing the action-packed NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
