Chicago Cubs win 6-5 over Toronto Blue Jays with game-winning single from Seiya Suzuki

In a thrilling 10th inning showdown, Seiya Suzuki sealed the Chicago Cubs’ 6-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays with a clutch single. The game-winning play came after Ian Happ kicked off the inning on second base as per the extra innings rule. Michael Busch was walked by Chad Green before Suzuki stepped up to the plate and delivered a decisive hit into left field on a 2-2 pitch.
This win came as a relief for the Cubs, who had seen their 5-2 lead vanish in the ninth inning, eventually leading to extra innings. Prior to this victory, the Cubs had suffered a three-game losing streak against the Cleveland Indians.
Chicago’s offensive efforts were highlighted by home runs from Ian Happ, Cody Bellinger, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Miguel Amaya. On the pitching front, Tyson Miller secured the win by pitching a scoreless inning.
