Breanna Stewart led the New York Liberty to a dominant 103-68 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, scoring 27 points in just 20 minutes of play. Sabrina Ionescu contributed 18 points and six assists to the Liberty’s resounding win.

The game started with New York quickly taking a 10-0 lead, stifling the Sparks to only 10 points in the first quarter, allowing the Liberty to establish a commanding 19-point lead. Stewart and Ionescu combined for 26 points in the first half, far surpassing the Sparks’ 28 points and giving New York a substantial 29-point halftime advantage.

Stewart showcased her prowess by sinking three consecutive 3-pointers, with Kayla Thornton adding another to extend the lead to 80-40 late in the third quarter. The Liberty’s victory by 35 points marked their third such win this season, setting a new WNBA record. Thornton also contributed significantly to the Liberty’s triumph with 16 points. Stewart’s impressive performance included shooting 10 of 15 from the field, with 3 of 4 successful attempts from beyond the arc. For the Sparks, Rae Burrell led the team with 15 points, accompanied by Dearica Hamby’s double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, Rickea Jackson’s 13 points, and Kia Nurse’s 10 points.

The Liberty’s 103 points marked a historic high against the Sparks in their series matchups. This victory underscores the Liberty’s strong form this season, boasting a record of 22 wins and 4 losses. Los Angeles, on the other hand, now holds a record of 6 wins and 19 losses.
