The game started with New York quickly taking a 10-0 lead, stifling the Sparks to only 10 points in the first quarter, allowing the Liberty to establish a commanding 19-point lead. Stewart and Ionescu combined for 26 points in the first half, far surpassing the Sparks’ 28 points and giving New York a substantial 29-point halftime advantage.
