Seahawks Outperform Titans’ Offense in Joint Practices despite Injury Limitations

Former Seattle defensive backs Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams were heavily involved in trash-talking during Thursday’s joint practice between the Seahawks and the Titans. The practice ended with Seahawks’ cornerback Devon Witherspoon intercepting a pass from Titans’ quarterback Will Levis and running towards Adams to hand him the ball. Witherspoon’s performance drew praise from Diggs, who commended him for his competitiveness, energy, and intelligence on the field.

Titans’ coach Brian Callahan expressed disappointment in his team’s execution during the final drill, particularly after Witherspoon’s interception, which he believed would have ended the game. Despite missing key receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Tyler Boyd, Callahan emphasized the need for improved performance and execution.

Tensions escalated during the joint practices, with Titans general manager Ran Carthon intervening to prevent a potential altercation between Seahawks’ Leonard Williams and Titans’ JC Latham. Witherspoon, who had a rough day previously, redeemed himself with the interception on Thursday, engaging in playful banter with Adams afterwards.

Titans’ Pro Bowl defensive lineman, Jeffery Simmons, made his presence felt by overpowering Seahawks’ left guard Laken Tomlinson during practice. As the joint practices concluded, Titans’ coach Callahan decided to shorten Thursday’s session after a lengthy practice in the heat the day before.

Injury concerns arose on both teams, with Seattle’s Pharoah Brown experiencing a foot issue and Zach Charbonnet having back problems. The Titans had defensive lineman Keondre Coburn, tight end Josh Whyle, wide receiver Kyle Philips, defensive lineman Marlon Davidson, and linebacker Kenneth Murray dealing with various injuries.
