Madonna plans to mark 66th birthday with a trip to Pompeii’s renowned archaeological site

Madonna is set to mark her 66th birthday with a private evening tour of the famous Italian ruins in Pompeii, according to officials. Naples Prefect Michele Di Bari has refuted rumors in the Italian media about the singer throwing a big birthday party at the ancient city, emphasizing that Madonna’s visit is purely for cultural reasons. He mentioned that Madonna has a special fondness for Pompeii and the archaeological park, and is eagerly looking forward to her visit.

Archaeologists have been diligently excavating Pompeii for years, revealing well-preserved frescoes, pottery, and most recently, a new set of human remains. Madonna, who has roots in Italy’s Abruzzo region, has been in the country for a few days, reportedly as a guest of designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. She was spotted on Tuesday evening enjoying a stroll in Portofino while dressed in black lace and carrying an umbrella before dining with her daughters and group at Portofino’s popular Puny Restaurant.

In May, Madonna finished her “Celebration Tour” with a free concert on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro. A request for comment sent to Madonna’s publicist did not receive an immediate response.
