Aaron Rodgers expresses remorse for ‘immunized’ remark in forthcoming book on his career

Aaron Rodgers is reflecting on his handling of discussing his COVID-19 immunization status in a forthcoming book. The New York Jets quarterback admitted he should have approached the situation differently, referring to his statement of being “immunized” against the virus before testing positive for COVID-19 three months later. Rodgers had to sit out for 10 days following the positive test.

The NFL star’s attempt to appeal to the league about his homeopathic treatment meeting vaccination qualifications was unsuccessful. Rodgers faced widespread criticism for not being transparent about his immunization status. In the upcoming biography titled “Out Of The Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers,” the quarterback expressed regret, mentioning that critics used this incident against him.

Rodgers cited his reasoning behind claiming to be “immunized,” stating it was pivotal for his appeal. He had previously stated his allergy to an ingredient in Moderna and Pfizer vaccines and concerns about adverse reactions to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Reflecting on the situation, Rodgers mentioned that he would have handled it differently by being straightforward about his allergy to the ingredient and his decision not to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

In addition to the COVID-19 incident, the book explores various aspects of Rodgers’ life, including his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon during his brief tenure with the Jets, his complex family dynamics, his exploration of using ayahuasca, and details of his football career from his college years at Cal to being drafted in 2005 and his 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
