PGA Tour golfer Scott Gutschewski from Omaha, Nebraska, has instilled a love for golf in his kids, Luke and Trevor, who are now following in his footsteps. The trio will have a rare opportunity to play together at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Pinnacle Bank Championship in their hometown. Scott, Luke, and Trevor have been placed in the same group for the tournament’s first and second rounds at the Club at Indian Creek, creating a unique and enjoyable experience for the family.
Scott, 47, had hoped that if his health permitted and Luke continued to progress, they might compete in a professional tournament together someday. The unexpected addition of Trevor, currently a high school senior, to the Korn Ferry event was a pleasant surprise. Despite Scott missing out on this week’s Wyndham Championship, his previous win at the Sun Coast Classic allowed him to qualify for the Omaha event. Luke, a senior at Iowa State, secured his spot through a local qualifier.
Trevor, bound for Florida for college golf, has had an outstanding summer, winning the Indian Creek Invitational and the U.S. Junior Amateur. The family’s participation in the Pinnacle Bank Championship is a rare occurrence that tournament officials acknowledge and celebrate. Both Luke and Trevor bring different strengths to the game, with Luke excelling in short game and course management while Trevor showcases power and aggressiveness.
For the Gutschewski family, the primary goal for the tournament is to enjoy the experience and have fun on the course. The brothers credit their father for imparting important life lessons on professionalism and etiquette in addition to golf skills. With their shared passion for the sport, the Gutschewskis are looking forward to a memorable and enjoyable week at the Pinnacle Bank Championship in Omaha.
