Donald Trump to participate in convention for Black journalists in Chicago

Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to appear at the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual convention in Chicago on Wednesday. The Trump campaign announced that he will partake in a question and answer session focusing on crucial issues within the Black community. This event is a part of Trump’s efforts to engage with areas beyond his usual support base, following his attendance at the Libertarian Party convention in Washington earlier this year where he faced disapproval from attendees.
The campaign highlighted Trump’s policies that they believe have benefited Black Americans during his previous term as president. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has experienced a decline in favorability among Black voters since taking office in 2021. The dynamic of the presidential race has shifted since Biden stepped out and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who is striving to become the first Black woman and the first South Asian American to hold the presidency if elected in November.
