Key Speakers at 2021 RNC Excludes Melania Trump

Former first lady Melania Trump is set to make a rare political appearance at the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, although she is not expected to give a speech there. During her time in the White House, Melania Trump maintained a private stance and was not a frequent presence on the campaign trail. Her absence from this year’s election campaign scene has been notable.
The convention’s list of speakers, released recently, does not include Melania Trump. The lineup includes potential vice presidential candidates like Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and Doug Burgum, along with various Trump allies from within and outside the government.
Melania Trump had spoken at the previous two Republican conventions, typically addressing her husband’s personal qualities and background. In 2020, she emphasized Donald Trump’s dedication to combating the COVID-19 pandemic, while in 2016, she spoke about her upbringing in Slovenia and praised her husband’s strength and loyalty.
Among the scheduled speakers for this year’s convention are Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tucker Carlson, and Lee Greenwood, who performs Trump’s walk-on song “God Bless the USA.” Additionally, figures like Franklin Graham, Sean O’Brien, and Dana White are slated to address the event.
Notable participants in the convention include individuals critical of President Joe Biden’s handling of certain situations, such as the mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, who was outspoken about Biden’s response to a chemical spill following a train derailment in 2023. The event will also feature everyday individuals, including students, parents facing financial difficulties, and even Trump’s former golf caddie.
