Adolis García has been selected to represent the Texas Rangers in the upcoming Home Run Derby at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Last year, García was eliminated in the first round by Randy Arozarena while competing at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington. In past years, two Rangers players have emerged as winners in the derby: Ruben Sierra and Eric Davis were co-champions in 1989 at Anaheim Stadium, while Juan Gonzalez claimed victory in 1993 at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
Joining García in the eight-player field will be Pete Alonso from the New York Mets, Alec Bohm from the Philadelphia Phillies, Gunnar Henderson from the Baltimore Orioles, Marcell Ozuna from the Atlanta Braves, José Ramírez from the Cleveland Indians, and Bobby Witt Jr. from the Kansas City Royals. Alonso, who will be participating in his fifth consecutive Home Run Derby, aims to secure his third championship title.
The event promises to be an exciting showcase of power hitters from various MLB teams, including the experienced Alonso and promising talents like García. The Home Run Derby is scheduled for Monday night at Globe Life Field, providing fans with a thrilling display of home run hitting prowess.
