The price of benchmark U.S. crude oil for August delivery increased by 69 cents, reaching $82.10 per barrel on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Brent crude for September delivery also saw a rise of 42 cents, reaching $85.08 per barrel.
Wholesale gasoline for August delivery experienced a decrease of 3 cents, settling at $2.50 per gallon. August heating oil remained steady at $2.52 per gallon, while August natural gas decreased by 1 cent to $2.33 per 1,000 cubic feet.
In the precious metals market, gold for August delivery saw an increase of $11.80, trading at $2,379.70 per ounce. Conversely, silver for September delivery witnessed a decline of 5 cents, reaching $31.01 per ounce. September copper rose by 3 cents, reaching $4.61 per pound.
Regarding currency exchange rates, the dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 161.77 yen from 161.33 Japanese yen. The euro also saw a slight increase, rising to $1.0825 from $1.0813.
