A New York City police officer passed away on Wednesday following a medical incident at a training center in the Bronx. The 33-year-old officer lost consciousness around 11:30 a.m. at Rodman’s Neck, a site utilized by the police for training in weapons and tactics, as per a spokesperson for the New York Police Department. He was later declared deceased at a nearby hospital. The spokesperson mentioned that the officer’s death did not result from gunfire, and authorities were looking into the possibility of heat stroke or a heart attack as the cause of the medical episode. The officer has not been publicly identified by the department.
