He’s the second wealthiest person on Earth, and now you have the chance to be his neighbor in New York City.
A residence on the 16th floor of 212 Fifth Ave., a neo-Gothic, turn-of-the-century former manufacturing building, is listed for $10.25 million.
Beyond the luxury of the home itself, this price offers the privilege of living among affluent residents, including Amazon titan Jeff Bezos. He owns the penthouse triplex and multiple units below, with a total investment of $119 million in the building, as previously reported by Gimme Shelter.
Sources indicated to the New York Post that Bezos currently owns four full floors, which will be combined to create a “mansion in the sky.”
Additionally, Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, have started work on the penthouse terrace, which involved trucking in trees and using a crane to lift them up, temporarily closing West 26th Street.
“The trees were all wrapped up,” said a source who witnessed the event. “The outdoor area is also heavily reinforced, potentially accommodating a pool.”
Other billionaires residing in this 24-story property, located on the northwest corner of Madison Square Park, include Texas financier Ed Bass. “About half the owners are billionaires,” noted a source, adding that the building boasts substantial security.
The listed 16th-floor residence spans 3,078 square feet, featuring three bedrooms and 3½ baths. The sellers purchased it for $9.36 million in 2017 and currently rent it for about $29,000 a month.
The dwelling opens to a marble foyer leading to a public space and a 2,000-square-foot private wing with three bedrooms. It features chevron-pattern floors, high ceilings, custom millwork, marble-wrapped baths, and a large laundry room. The chef’s kitchen includes a breakfast bar and abundant sleek marble and wood. Large windows offer a picture-perfect view of the Flatiron Building.
