Stephen Curry wins MVP as Shaq’s OGs dominate NBA All-Star

Stephen Curry delivered a spectacular performance in front of his home fans at Chase Center, leading Shaq’s OGs to a dominant win over Chuck’s Global Stars in the NBA’s first-ever All-Star mini-tournament.

The Golden State Warriors icon scored 12 points in the final game, earning him the coveted Kobe Bryant MVP Award.

A new All-Star format

This year’s NBA All-Star Game introduced a new mini-tournament format, featuring four teams and a race to 40 points in each matchup. The changes aimed to increase competitiveness following last year’s 211-186 scoring blowout.

Shaq’s OGs dominate

In the final showdown, Curry wasted no time setting the tone with a deep three-pointer before hitting a half-court shot that electrified the crowd. The Global Stars struggled from the start, missing their first 10 shots and falling into an 11-0 deficit, sealing their fate early.

Semifinal results

  • Global Stars 41, Young Stars 32: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 12 points as Chuck’s Global Stars defeated Kenny’s Young Stars. Anthony Edwards was a last-minute scratch due to a groin issue.
  • Shaq’s OGs 42, Rising Stars 35: Damian Lillard sealed the win with a clutch three-pointer, while the Rising Stars proved to be a tough challenge, keeping the game close with nine lead changes.

Curry’s unforgettable weekend

This victory capped off an unforgettable All-Star weekend for Curry, who took a moment midgame to thank the fans and reflect on his journey. With an Olympic gold medal last summer and now another All-Star MVP trophy, the 36-year-old continues to add to his legendary career.

What’s next?

With the All-Star break over, teams are now gearing up for the final stretch of the season. Curry and the Warriors will look to carry this momentum into the playoffs as they fight for another championship.
